Shongweni Reservoir
Design and Construction Supervision of Shongweni 6ML Reinforced Concrete Reservoir and Ancillary Works
- The design and construction supervision of a reinforced concrete reservoir with a capacity of 6 Mℓ.
- Reservoir inlet and outlet pipework design.
- The design and installation of subsoil drainage.
- Locating a suitable site for the proposed reservoir.
- Modelling of the Georgedale, Hammarsdale, Shongweni, Zwelibomvu to Ofudu, including the supply to Clifton Elevated Tower, bulk supply mains.
- Sizing, design and construction of a bypass past the reservoir to supply water directly from Georgedale Reservoir to Zwelibomvu Reservoir if necessary.
- The telemetry, control valves and meters on both the inlet and outlet pipelines, with their associated chambers on the existing reservoirs, were upgraded to suit the increased capacity.
