L3096 THEMBA ROAD

Themba Road 3096 (L3096) branches off at the intersection of Local Road 640 and intersects the District Road 985. The length of the road is approximately 3.3km and had previously consisted of wheel track road which fell under category R6 which served as a rural walkway with no proper access of motorized vehicles. Sparsely residential area exists along the length of L3096 and it also serves as a critical thoroughfare for the community. The road provides access to one school, local clinic, local spaza shop, agricultural land and a place of worship. It was vital for the road to be upgraded to class R5 gravel road, which is in line with the Department of Transport Type 7a Local Road standard.
