The Upgrade of District Road 1097 (km 0+000 to km 4+674)

Professional engineering for the construction of mass earthworks, layerworks, surfacing and drainage on District Road 1097 (from km 0.000 to km 4.674) in the Durban region. The pavement layerworks including a trial section for the construction of a New Modified Emulsion (NME) base. The NME is being trialed to evaluate its performance under real-world conditions, including durability, resilience and suitability for various road applications. This trial forms part of a broader sustainable infrastructure initiative, as the NME is designed to reduce environmental impact through lower emissions and improved material efficiency.
