FOR THE SPECIAL MAINTENANCE ON NATIONAL ROUTE R62 SECTION 6 BETWEEN WC/EC BORDER AND LOUTERWATER (KM 36.75 – KM 58.60)

Naidu Consulting (Pty) Ltd was appointed by SANRAL (Southern Region) as engineering consultants for the maintenance of National Route R62 Section 6 (km 36.75 to km 58.60) in the Eastern Cape, under Kou-Kamma Local Municipality. Our scope included works for ECSA Stages 3-6. The scope of work includes the implementation of a Bitumen Stabilised (BSM1) base and double seal to enhance pavement durability and long-term performance.

This solution enhances durability and longevity by preventing edge-break, reducing erosion, and improving drainage. The permeable design allows water infiltration, minimising runoff while maintaining the structural integrity needed for vehicular traffic.
Through this initiative, we continue to deliver resilient and environmentally responsible infrastructure that meets both engineering and environmental standards.
