This 12-month qualification has been generated to provide further development for learners who have successfully achieved the competencies to perform one or more of the various specialized functions involved in civil engineering construction.
This learning programme is suitable for persons who supervise teams and construction processes in a specific engineering context or those who wish to develop themselves as first line managers who perform supervisory functions. This programme is ideally suited for, but not limited to:
- Construction Supervisors / Team Leaders
- Persons who wish to enter the industry at supervisory level
Exit level outcomes will be judged by the following criteria – the ability to:
- Apply OHSE legislation and procedures in construction supervision.
- Apply information from contract documentation, drawings and specifications to set out a construction site.
- Supervise construction activities

The practical component of the qualification will be offered in an active workplace environment giving learners the experience and exposure to the challenges and demands of the construction industry. Additionally, learners can opt for the full qualification or Skills Programmes (comprising chosen specific Unit Standards).
